VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region had zero new cases recorded Wednesday, keeping the active case count at 52.

There are 6 people in hospital, 5 of whom are in critical care.

The region had no COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, keeping the total at 155.

Out of 7,797 total cases in the region, 7,590 have since recovered.

There were 4,558 vaccine doses given since Tuesday, bringing the total number of doses given to 213,793.

The province added 87 new cases Wednesday, moving the active case count to 1,119.

There are 109 people in hospital, 41 of whom are in critical care.

One COVID-19 death was recorded Wednesday, moving the provincial total to 1,744.

Of the 147,271 confirmed cases since last March, 144,383 have since recovered.

The province gave 58,230 doses of the vaccine since Tuesday, bringing the total number of doses given in B.C. to 4,570,153.

The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control released the weekly distribution of COVID-19 cases by local health area.

From June 13th to 19th, Peace River North added 14 cases, Peace River South recorded two, and Fort Nelson had zero.

The BC CDC released the average daily case count per 100,000 population figures for the week of June 15th to 21st.

Peace River North had six cases per 100,000, Peace River South had one, and Fort Nelson had zero cases per 100,000.

The Windermere region had a case rate of 30 per 100,000.
