DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) is asking the public for help regarding the investigation into the homicide of a Dawson Creek man who recently relocated from the Lower Mainland.
On Sunday, May 9th, around 9 a.m., frontline officers with the Dawson Creek RCMP were called to the report of a body found near Highway 2 and Clark Road in Pouce Coupe.
Investigators with the NDMCU and the BC Coroners Service have identified the body to be that of 55-year-old Lance Wayne Patterson, and the death was a homicide.

Investigators have also determined that Patterson was known to drive a distinctive 2003 black Mercury Marauder and are looking for any information regarding his activities in the days leading up to his death.
In a release, NDMCU Staff Sergeant Todd Wiebe says, “We believe that people have information that will assist us in finding the person responsible for Lance’s death, and we urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to an investigator.”
Police are also looking for any video dash cam footage from anyone travelling on Highway 2 near Clark Road between the late evening on May 8th and the early morning of May 9th.
