Northern Health says Dr. Aremu joins the city after a successful assessment through the Practice Ready Assessment Program.

The program, funded by the Doctors of BC and the Ministry of Health, assesses physicians trained outside of Canada for competency to practice and matches them with communities in return for a minimum three-year commitment.

Dr. Aremu says he’s “definitely well cut out for Northern BC since I have worked in rural Nigeria for about two decades before immigrating to Canada.”

“I love reading, travelling, sightseeing, and exploring the beauty of nature with my wife and four children.”

Two more doctors will be joining the clinic in June and September.
