FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St John Hospital Foundation has purchased eight isolation medical carts for Peace Villa to be used as part of its COVID-19 response measures.

The carts will help reduce potential transmission to patients, safely storing needed medical supplies.

Residential Care Manager Pat Evans says the carts are boon to staff and residents, noting the carts will primarily hold nursing supplies for bedside care.

“This has greatly reduced the fatigue for Peace Villa health care staff who work very hard to keep our residents and their coworkers safe from transmission of infection,” said Evans.

The portable carts are equipped with easy-access drawers with clearly labelled contents and save nurses the hassle of walking down hallways each time to retrieve needed medical supplies.

Evans went on to express gratitude on behalf of her team.

“Both nurses and care aides and our leadership team want to extend our gratitude to the community and donors for the Isolation Carts that were funded through the Foundations Covid-19 Greatest Need Fund,” Evans said.
