FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The FSJ Hospital Foundation’s Annual Bluey Day Be Brave & Shave event is taking place on May 15th, and there are still spaces available.

So far, there are 14 participants for the annual event, and registration is still open for individuals, families, friends, and businesses to participate. This year the event will once again be held at the Fort St. John Curling Club.

More than 800 supporters have shaved their heads since the event started in 1999, raising more than $2 million so cancer patients can receive the best care while close to home.

“The goal this year is to raise $100,000 for the Cancer Treatment and Diagnostic Imaging Department, Laboratory, Operating Theatre, Endoscopy Suite and Community Cancer Centre, to help with early screening diagnosis and treatment of cancer. There are limited spots, so early registration is important,” says Tanya Richardson, the Foundation’s Comunity Giving and Event Coordinator.

Those interested in registering can do so through the FSJHF website or Facebook page, calling 250-261-1731 to pick up a participants package and begin collecting pledges.
