FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – School District 60 announced, after a province-wide search, Angela Telford has been hired as the new Secretary-Treasurer.

Previously, Telford has worked for SD60 as Director of Finance. Telford has a Bachelor of Commerce, and has experience managing financial processes internally, as well as with the Ministry of Education.

“The Secretary-Treasurer has a senior leadership role in the District.  Not only will she provide financial stewardship of significant public funds, she will oversee the operations side of the District and support the Board of Trustees in its governance role, as the corporate secretary,” says Superintendent Stephen Petrucci.

“Angela has already established positive and effective relationships with our leadership team.  She is also connected to our local community and has provided voluntary leadership support for events like the BC Winter Games.  I am looking forward to working with her as part of senior management.”

Board Chair Helen Gilbert says Telford brings community board experience, which will be important to the role.

“The board looks forward to working alongside Angela. She is an excellent fit for this new role in our school district.  The background she brings from her experience on community boards will be an asset,” says Gilbert.

Telford’s new position was effective on Feb. 1st.
