VICTORIA, B.C. – The Province has announced that it is now accepting applications for the new Agritech Grant program.

According to the Government, this $3-million grant program is part of StrongerBC, B.C.’s Economic Recovery Plan, aiming to help the economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Agritech is the application of technology to improve the farming and food-production process. Examples include placing a smart sensor in the soil to communicate back to a farmer about soil conditions or using software that tracks satellite imagery to help map and manage farmland.

The program is open to B.C.-based agritech and agriculture businesses, as well as international agritech companies that are partnered with B.C.-based businesses.

Further information on the Agritech Grant program, including the application process and eligibility, can be found on the Province’s website.
