VICTORIA, B.C. – The Province has announced new COVID-19 health orders for all indoor fitness group activities to close immediately across B.C.

According to Health officials, the programs and activities being demanded to close include dance, pilates, yoga, and gymnastics, and is to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 as cases across B.C. are on the rise.

Currently, the Province is working on guidance for facilities offering indoor group fitness activities, other than spin and hot yoga. That guidance is being finalized and is expected to be available sometime this week.

Businesses can continue to operate if they have an updated safety plan that has been approved by health officials and is in compliance with the recent orders.

It is to note, businesses that are forced to close due to COVID-19 restrictions may be eligible for rent support from the Government of Canada.

Further information on provincial COVID-19 restrictions can be found on the Province’s website.
