VICTORIA, B.C. – 29 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Tuesday, in the Northern Health Region, bringing the number of active cases to 153.

In the Northern Health Region, 33 are in hospital, with 10 of those in ICU.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Northern Health Region now stands at 678.

The death count in Northern Health sits at six.

According to the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, 941 new cases were confirmed across B.C., bringing the total to 28,348.  Henry continues to say we need to do our part and show support for B.C. health-care workers.  “B.C.’s health-care workers are in our labs and hospitals, at our testing sites and in our communities. These people are our health-care system. They are there to support all of us without question and without pause, and we need to show that same support to them by all of us doing our part.”

Active cases across the province stand at 7,732 and 19,605 have since recovered.

Hospitalizations in B.C. are at 284, with 61 of those in ICU.

The province’s death count is now up to 358.

Earlier in the day, Northern Health reported that there have been no new cases of COVID-19 at Rotary Manor in Dawson Creek since November 13.
