FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Instead of holding a Santa Claus Parade this year, the City of Fort St. John has announced it will be holding a ‘Santa Claus Week’.

Beginning December 1, this week-long celebration features an outdoor adventure in partnership with the Fort St John Public Library, a guided snowshoe tour, best-decked house and business contest, Holiday-themed crafts, and complimentary movie screenings, along with other planned festive activities.

Mayor Lori Ackerman says she has heard from a jolly old elf that the City’s recreation staff have worked to bring a week-long program of activities to celebrate winter and the holiday season.

The decision to hold a ‘Santa Claus Week’ was based on group gathering restrictions due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.

Further information on ‘Santa Claus Week’ can be found on the City’s website.
