FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – City of Fort St. John Council has approved an updated policy for Base Budget Grants, which would see grants being administered by a community foundation.
Prior to the policy change, non-profits requesting relief from property taxes would apply for a permissive property tax exemption and it would be distributed by Council.
In June, Council approved a Permissive Property Tax Grant-in-Aid Policy which reflected the process identified in the Financial Policy Framework which would see grants administered by a community foundation, instead of Council.
