FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – B.C. Hydro is reporting many outages, Monday afternoon, across the Peace River Regional District.
Due to strong winds being experienced across the region, a number of communities have been left in the dark as wires are knocked down by strong winds.
Some of the areas experiencing power outages include parts of Fort St. John, Charlie Lake, Cecil Lake, Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge.
As of 1:30 p.m. Monday, estimates for when power is expected to return to the affected areas are unknown at this time as crews work to restore power.
If you do happen to see a downed powerline, Hydro is reminding you to stay away from it, as it could be live, and to report it immediately.
Further updates on outages can be found on B.C. Hydro’s website.
