FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for the B.C. South Peace and on Highway 97 along the Pine Pass.

According to Environment Canada, heavy wet snow is expected tonight and tomorrow morning.

A Pacific low-pressure system is forecast to move across the central interior tonight bringing snow to the region this evening.

The snow may be initially mixed with rain before intensifying later this evening. Accumulations will be generally near 10 cm but could exceed that amount over higher terrain, especially near Tumbler Ridge.

The snow is expected to end late Friday morning as the low moves into Alberta.

As a precaution, drivers are being reminded to drive according to conditions as visibility could be reduced at times.
