Beatton Airport Road Fire Update – April 22 – 11 a.m.
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — There are 9 IMT members, 55 BC Wildfire firefighters, 10 SPUs, 36 BC Hydro personnel, 4 pieces of heavy equipment, and 2 helicopters assigned to the Beatton Airport Road fire.
Fire information officer Noelle Kekula says the fire is 6,300 hectares in size. However, she stressed, it’s not growing in size. She says smoke and fog made confirming the perimeters of the fire more difficult, when it earlier estimated to be 5,500 hectares. Now, it looks closer to 6,300.
The Beatton River Airport Road is now open. Flaggers are on the highway assisting with traffic control.
