Following a February sale where no leases or drilling licenses were sold, March was a more productive month for oil and gas land sales. In all three leases were sold along with seven drilling licenses totalling just shy of $1.9 million.
The average price per hectare for March was pegged at $314. That figure is up from January’s mark of $76 per hectare.
In large part because of February’s turn of events, totals this year are among the lowest in the province’s history. This is following a 2015 total sale of approximately $18 million which set a record for low sales in B.C.
