FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Yesterday’s sale of B.C. natural gas and petroleum land rights offered more evidence, of the continuing downturn in the oil and gas industry.
The Ministry of Natural Gas Development confirms only four parcels were offered covering just over one thousand hectares.
However, even more alarming, was this morning’s confirmation, that none of them was purchased.
That left the two month calendar bonus bids total at $212,000, only about seven per cent of what it was last year, and recall 2015 ended up being the worst calendar year for government revenue since 1982.
The next sale is set for March 23rd.
