Alleged poppy box thief in Grande Prairie facing multiple charges of theft
A man is now facing charges after Grande Prairie RCMP arrested him in relation to stolen poppy boxes.
Yesterday, RCMP were notified of a stolen poppy box from a gas station on 100th Avenue.
RCMP were able to locate and arrest 23-year-old Corey Donald Muise, who is now facing three counts of Theft Under $5000, four counts of Failure to Comply with a Probation Order, and one count for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
Each year, RCMP respond to quite a few calls of stolen poppy boxes across Canada.
According to the Grande Prairie Daily Herald Tribune, as many as 20 poppy boxes may have been from the Grande Prairie area this year alone – many unreported to RCMP.
Elsewhere in BC, boxes have been stolen in Vernon, Coquitlam, and Nanaimo to name just a few.
