Paws for a Cause to hit the road this weekend
The North Peace Branch BCSPCA is getting ready to walk in Paws for a Cause this Sunday, September 13th.
Participants are invited to join, starting at Centennial Park.
It’s a provincial event, though some communities like Fort Nelson that don’t have an official BCSPCA conduct a similar walk to fight animal cruelty.
Branch Manager Candace Buchamer says another topic they hope to bring more awareness to is the fact that their facility also serves a lot of wildlife, and not just family pets.
She adds that a lot of resources are allocated towards calls involving wildlife, as the closest wildlife rehabilitation centre in Northern BC is in Prince George.
Registration starts at 11:30, and furry friends are invited.
