The Wolves executive approached the league about taking the single season sabbatical from the league and the request was granted. In the past the club has had trouble recruiting players for a full season.

League President Ambrose Ralph said the club is financially stable going forward and has a new executive in place and is confident the team will get itself sorted out going forward.

As for the playoff format this season the league is looking at a number of alternatives. The NWJHL will decide during meetings in January what set up they will go with for the post-season.

No schedule alterations will be made except for the cancellation of games involving Slave Lake. The changes leave the Fort St. John Huskies with a large gap in their schedule as the team will open the season this Friday against the Fairview Flyers, but will not play again for three weeks after that date until their home opener on October 17 against the Flyers.
