Reduced hours at Taylor Medical Clinic due to physician shortage
The clinic was not open as usual on January 3rd and 8th, and it is scheduled to be closed again on the 10th, 24th, and 27th.
A note from the FSJ Medical Clinic explains, “Due to the Fort St. John doctor shortage it has become increasingly difficult to provide a doctor on each of the regular days there,” adding, “It is inevitable that there will continue to be days where no doctor is available.”
Fort St. John has been facing a physician shortage for several months, which has led to days without the walk-in clinic open, and the temporary closure of the Travel Clinic. Northern Health is currently recruiting four General Practitioners for Fort St. John.
