The bonus bid total was $8.4 million raising the calendar year-to-date total to about $96 million. 13 of the 17 parcels offered were purchased resulting in an average price per hectare of nearly $550.

In terms of provincial revenue concern, it should be noted the first three monthly sales of 2012 resulted in nearly $81 million in bonus bids, and that represents almost 85 per cent of the year-to-date total. The eight month total is also, about $10 million less than the comparable one last year, when a $34.7 million August sale pushed it past $106 million.

The next sale this year is scheduled for September 12th.
