On Wednesday, lightning started a fire 275 km northeast of Fort Nelson, close to Estsine Lake. That fire now measures close to 300 hectares in size.
According to the Fire Centre, despite its size, no values or structures are at risk.
The fire is currently in “modified response”, meaning it is being actively monitored but not suppressed.
The public is being reminded that Category 2 and 3 burning, as well as the use of fireworks are currently prohibited throughout the Prince George Fire Centre.
