FSJ gets disaster assistance
The province has approved Disaster Financial Assistance for the residents of Fort St. John.
The announcement comes just over a week after the July 29 torrential rainfall and subsequent flooding in the City.
Residents who wish to be considered for this assistance must claim uninsurable damage such as overland flooding.
Insurable damage, such as sewer backup, is not covered.
A Town Hall meeting will occur on Monday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Enerplex to provide information on the claims process for interested residents.
Representatives from the program will be at the meeting to answer questions and anyone affected by the flood are invited to attend.
