House fire being called suspicious

The fire department is calling a fire that engulfed a house in Fort St. John as suspicious.

The Deputy Fire Chief Curtis Redpath says the fire investigator has finished the investigation, but that a cause for the fire has not yet been determined.

The fire broke out at around 11:45 a.m. Saturday and is believed to have started at the front of the house on 96th avenue at 94th street. By the time the fire was brought under control, the house was mostly destroyed.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Redpath says an exact cause may not be found because no one was home and no one saw the fire until it was fully ablaze.
