Fort St. John has recorded another child cyclist collision, but in this case there were only minor injuries reported.
The RCMP says at around 5.30 yesterday afternoon a 7 year old boy, wearing a proper helmet, was riding his bicycle on the 89-A street sidewalk, when a vehicle turned into a driveway in front of him.
When the bike hit the side of vehicle, the boy was knocked to the ground, and one of the vehicle’s rear wheels ran over his leg.
The child was taken to hospital, but was released a short time later.
A police report says no charges were laid because numerous vehicles were parked on the side of the street, obstructing the motorist’s view of the sidewalk.
