Local Area Precipitation Update

Today’s eleven o’clock precipitation reading at the local airport was eight point two millimeters.

That unofficially raises the local area monthly precipitation total to 16 point 3 millimeters, or better than 40 percent of the May average, of 39 point seven.

The latest forecast still indicates we could get another 2 to 12 millimeters more this afternoon, and then 5 to 10 centimeters of snow tonight, with as much as 15 centimeters near mountains.

That means, there’s a good chance we could break the local area May 21st precipitation record of 19 point 6 millimeters, set in 1964.
