Concerned Fort St. John residents flocked to the Peace River lookout on Saturday, to see what was causing the thick black clouds of smoke in the sky.
A property, which could be viewed from the lookout on 100th Street, was engulfed in flames.Â
It almost looked like a real scenario, but firefighters from the Fort St. John Fire Department were participating in a training session on the property.
The fire was a controlled burn, which allowed local fire crews to practice their firefighting skills.
