Two Fort St. John City employees were awarded Long-Service Awards on Monday.

Rick Fudge has been working with the City for five years. He began on July 5th, 2004 as a Facilities Maintenance Technician at the North Peace Arena.

However, in December of 2004, he enrolled in distance education at BCIT for Building Inspection. In April 2005, he began on-the-job training, and in June of 2005 he received a full time position as Building inspector One.

Meanwhile, Brent Morgan began with the Fort St. John fire department on July 5th 1999. He has been a firefighter with the city for 10 years now.

Mayor Lantz says during Morgan’s job interview, Morgan stated he, “really, really, really, really wanted to become a firefighter.”

Morgan is now a Captain with the Fort St. John fire department.
