GP RCMP warn residents after sex offender released

The RCMP is worried a convicted sexual offender living in Grande Prairie, will again target teenage boys.

Thus it asking the public to watch out, for 25-year-old Richard Walker. In a release this week, the Mounties said, "Walker has a history of sexually offending against males, between the ages of 14 and 18 … and poses a significant risk to the community."

Police are telling citizens to "take suitable precautionary measures" but, they’re also warning against any form of vigilante action.

Walker, who has admitted psychological issues, took only six days to reoffend after being sentenced, to 18 months’ probation, March 3rd for voyeurism.

However, attorney Angela Howey, who assisted Walker as duty counsel during his last trial said, "There was no harm done … I don’t believe Mr. Walker is overly predatory".
