Premier Campbell has offered some encouragement to those concerned about the proximity of oil and gas facilities to residential areas.

Later in Kamloops he responded to the report of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy, which concluded cap and trade is a better environmental option than the carbon tax. He said the report calls for a 20 percent cut in gases by 2020, while his government is aiming for 33 percent.
