Taylor residents may find their water has a chlorinated taste for the next 24 hours.
At approximately 4:10 pm Monday, the District of Taylor experienced a waterline break on the main supply line to Taylor. The break occurred near the River Pumphouse.
There was no disruption of services to the residents as water was hauled to the Taylor Reservoir from Fort St. John. This action allowed the municipality to maintain water levels in the reservoir until the break could be located.
The break was located and repaired Wednesday, but it will take several days to refill the reservoir to an acceptable level. The District water standpipe will remain closed for a period of two days.
While the reservoir is re-filled the district has taken measures to ensure that there is no contaminates in the system. The water may appear to be slightly discoloured due to turbidity but continues to be safe to drink.
