Building numbers in Fort St. John continue, to run well ahead of last year.

54 permits were issued in May, for slightly more than ten million dollars.

That brings the year to date totals through May, to 112 permits worth more than 42 point one million.

That compares to 102 permits worth 26 point six million, in the first five months of 2007.

However, construction value would be about seven and half milliondollars off last year’s pace if not, for the 23 point one milliondollar permit for the Enerplex, issued in March.

The 54 permits last month brought in 32 point 3 thousand dollars incity revenue, boosting that five month total to 92 point two thousand.
