Yesterday’s electrical storm activity resulted in at least seventeen Northeast BC power outages.

BC Hydro lists 12 of them in the Dawson Creek area, two each in the Fort St. John and, Fort Nelson areas and, one in Chetwynd.

The outages occurred in a five hour period, between 4 and 9pm and, it’s believed service was restored by early this morning, to most, if not all the impacted customers.

June has started to live up to its reputation, as one of the two top precipitation months of the year in this region and, the storms also resulted in about six and half millimeters of rain.

On average Fort St. John receives about 71 millimeters in June but, it also recorded its all time one day record, of 80.3 millimeters, on June 27th, of 1965.
