BC Hydro outage planned for Tumbler Ridge

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — Residents in Tumbler Ridge are reminded of a planned upcoming BC Hydro outage.

The District of Tumbler Ridge is reminding residents of a planned BC Hydro power outage on July 17. 

According to the district, a community-wide power outage has been scheduled by BC Hydro for July 17 to install a new fused disconnect during a transmission system upgrade. 

The outage will begin at 8 a.m. and last until around 11 a.m. 

BC Hydro will notify customers affected by the outages via phone, email or mail, depending on the notification method selected through their account. 

In a letter sent out to Tumbler Ridge customers, BC Hydro said it apologizes for the inconvenience the outage may cause, but that it needs to ensure public safety and the safety of crews as it conducts necessary improvement work. 

Residents who do not receive a notification of the outage or who would prefer a different notification method should reach out to BC Hydro at 1-800-224-9376.
