VANCOUVER — Police in Vancouver are warning drug users after a cluster of seven overdoses that sent one person to hospital.

Vancouver police say in a message on social media that the overdoses were reported in the area of East 10th Avenue and Commercial Drive.

They say that six people received emergency treatment at the scene and recovered, while one was hospitalized.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and details of the overdose cluster remain unclear.

They say Vancouver Coastal Health has urged drug users to go to supervised consumption sites, carry naloxone and avoid using drugs alone.

The BC Coroners Service said earlier this month that the province saw 522 deaths in the first four months of this year linked to drug toxicity, down 16 per cent from the same period in 2025.

April marked a decade since the province declared a public health emergency due to the overdose crisis, with more than 18,000 deaths recorded in B.C. due to drug toxicity in that time.
