B.C. select committee gathers feedback for 2027 budget
The Government of B.C. is accepting resident feedback on its 2027 budget through a select standing committee.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The province has formed a select committee to review resident recommendations on the 2027 B.C. budget
According to Facebook posts from both the City of Fort St. John and the Peace River Regional District (PRRD), the Government of B.C. is accepting written input on its 2027 provincial budget.
On the Legislative Assembly of B.C.’s website, the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services explained it was seeking written feedback on the 2027 provincial budget in accordance with the B.C. Budget Transparency and Accountability Act.
“The committee considers the priorities expressed by British Columbians through its consultation and makes recommendations for the next provincial budget,” the website stated.
“These recommendations are included in a report to the Legislative Assembly that is publicly available.”
The committee includes MLAs from government and opposition parties, and will also be responsible for reviewing a budget consultation paper released by the province’s Minister of Finance. The paper will outline the province’s fiscal forecast, key budget issues and how residents can share their views.
Written feedback from residents will be accepted from June 1st to June 19th at 2 p.m. Pacific time.

Submissions can include up to three recommendations, with a maximum of 50 words each, as well as an explanation for each recommendation, with a maximum of 300 words each. The order of the recommendations will not reflect priority.
The province reminds residents that submissions are considered public documents and will be posted to the committee’s website. Residents are encouraged not to include any personal information in the body of the submission.
To submit recommendations to the committee, residents must sign in or complete a profile with the Legislative Assembly of B.C.
