(UPDATE) Cell, landline service disrupted in Fort St. John

Three major service providers are reporting phone and landline outages in the Fort St. John area.

Updated May 23rd, 1 p.m. to reflect a restoration of service in the Fort St. John area.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Telus, Bell and Rogers all reported service outages in the Fort St. John area midday on May 23rd.

According to online reporting websites, Bell Canada, Rogers and Telus reported service outages, with landlines impacted and mobile devices reduced to SOS only.

Service was restored shortly before noon on May 23rd.

In the event of a loss of cell or landline service, residents are encouraged to cycle their phones’ power and check for outages with their service provider.

If residents are in need of emergency medical services, and no calls can be made from their devices, head to your nearest emergency department to receive medical attention.
