Joanne was born in Ontario to parents Stella and Arthur Wolff. Raised in Carrot River Saskatchewan, she was the eldest of three and sister to Doug and Jim. In 1957, the family moved to Fort St John where Joanne’s dad (best known as Foxy) opened Foxy’s Gun Shop. Joanne attended North Peace High School where she enjoyed the theater and met the members of the Mucci family. Favoring one, she went on to marry Steve and had two daughters – Theresa and Mirella.

Joanne worked at Marshal Wells for years. She was actively involved in the community with her many years of service as a Peace River Regional District Director and City of Fort St John Councilor.

Joanne eventually moved to Burnaby where she met and married Gerry Holmes. She was introduced to the world of a Rotarian and loved being part of that community. She became stepmom and friend to Gerry’s children and grandchildren. After his passing Joanne moved back to Fort St John where she could be closer to family, especially her mom Stella. She enjoyed working at Home Hardware especially socializing with new and old friends she saw there every day.

In 2013 Joanne and Stella moved to Kelowna enjoying less snow shoveling and warmer winters. Sadly, Stella passed away at the wonderful age of 102½. Mom formed a kinship with all her neighbors and enjoyed a lovely circle of friends who, from time to time, found their share of mischief.

Joanne was predeceased by her dad Arthur (Foxy) Wolff, her mom Stella (Thomson) Wolff and brother James (Jim) Wolff. She leaves behind her brother Douglas Wolff (Jacqueline), nieces and nephews Tara Hotson (Doug), Vining Wolff, Kyle Wolff and Katrina Wolff along with a loving cousin and numerous great nieces and nephews.

The words ‘leaves behind’ seem small when both her daughters are not being left behind but will continue to share a part of her with all – be it in the similarity of their looks, their shared mannerisms, and their love of a good book…Theresa Mucci-Rodgers (Ron) and Mirella Butler (Gordon) and grandchildren Blake, Brooklyn (Kai) and Joelle (Robbie) and her great grandchildren Maverick and Odin.

Mom will be missed by many, especially those who remember those hugs she handed out with such ease. But your memories of all those special moments with her will linger. So, lift a glass in cheer to our fond memories of Joanne – Rest in Peace Mom
