FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts between March 30th and April 2nd. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, March 30th

Ashley Lynn Compton (born 1992)

Compton was found guilty of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and breaching a release order on September 5th, 2024 and November 27th, 2025 in Fort St. John. 

They were handed a suspended sentence, where they were given conditions to follow, and a probation order for one year. 

They were also fined $150.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, March 30th

Darnell Failen Kurtis Sharron (born 1993) 

Sharron was found guilty of theft worth $5,000 or under and breaching a release order on August 20th, 2025 in Dawson Creek.

They were handed a conditional sentence – which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest’ – for a period of 30 days. They were also given a probation order for 12 months. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, March 31st

Britton Davis Cardinal (born 1997) 

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for an incident on July 13th, 2025 in Tumbler Ridge. 

Cardinal was issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation for a period of six months. If Cardinal fails to follow the conditions laid out by the court, they must pay the $500.

Darrion Jerald Kimmie (born 1997)

Kimmie was found guilty of assault on March 2nd, 2025 in Doe River. 

They were given a conditional sentence for 60 days. 

Also, reasonable grounds were satisfied for Kimmie for an incident on June 6th, 2025 in Doe River. 

Kimmie was issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation for a period of 12 months. 

Teekah Miller (born 1999) 

Miller was found guilty of impaired operation of a conveyance due to alcohol or drugs on December 12th, 2024 in Dawson Creek. 

They were handed a driving prohibition for one year and were fined $2,000. 

Chadd Allen Myers (born 1980) 

Myers was found guilty of driving while prohibited or with a suspended licence on December 17th, 2022 in Kamloops. 

They were sentenced to jail for 30 days. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, April 1st

Philip Clayton Testawitch (born 1988)

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for Testawitch for an incident on April 1st and 21st, 2025 in Fort St. John.

Testawitch’s previous November 10th, 2025 conditional sentence order for one year was terminated, and they must now serve the remainder of the sentence in jail. They also have a probation order for six months.

Testawitch was also found guilty of theft worth $5,000 or under on February 8th, 2026 in Fort St. John.

They were sentenced to 120 days in jail.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, April 1st

Vanessa Leona Clark (born 1980)

Clark was found guilty of breaching a probation order, possessing stolen mail or mail container or key and breaching a release order on November 1st, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to jail time served and jail for 22 days and handed a probation order for 12 months.
