In a recent press conference on February 11th, BC RCMP deputy commissioner Dwayne McDonald named 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar as the shooter.

The release said: “The Fort St. John RCMP wishes to share that our hearts are with the families affected by the recent Tumbler Ridge school shooting.

The fundraiser will support individuals and families who have been impacted by the school shooting with both their immediate needs and ongoing support, the RCMP said.

Although the RCMP suggests a donation amount of $100, any amount that is affordable can be donated.

If people are unable to attend but would still like to contribute, cash is welcome and e-transfers can be sent to ediv-fsj-scarlettrecclub@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

The release said: “Let’s surround these families with strength, support and love.”
