Fort St. John fireworks display to ring in New Year’s Eve

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John will be ringing in New Year’s Eve with a fireworks show. 

According to a post on the City of Fort St. John’s website, it will be hosting an early fireworks display starting at 8 p.m. until 8.30 p.m. on December 31st. 

The Fort St. John community can watch the sky light up from the field northeast of Fort St. John Hospital.

The city asks attendees not to park at the Fort St. John Hospital, Peace Villa or birthing centre lots. 

Additionally, street parking is not available on Northern Lights Drive. 

There are also temporary no-parking zones on 112th Avenue, 86th Street and 83rd Street during the event.

The city advises attendees to bring a camp chair to view the fireworks from the northeast field.  

According to a PDF the city has provided, Surerus Park has been assigned for parking and viewing and limited parking is available at the Anne Roberts Young Elementary School parking lot.

The event is free of charge for the community.
