Peace region projects receive $350k+ combined in trust’s final 2025 funding cycle
The Lake Point Golf and Country Club in Charlie Lake and the Tumbler Ridge Mountain Bike Association will both receive funding for projects as part of NDIT’s final intake of 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Peace region projects are receiving support through the Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) as the organization wraps up its 2025 funding cycle.
As part of the NDIT’s final intake of 2025, the Lake Point Golf and Country Club in Charlie Lake has been approved for $78,139 to replace its irrigation system, a project that aims to improve water efficiency and long-term course sustainability.
Tumbler Ridge is also seeing investment. The Tumbler Ridge Mountain Bike Association will receive $279,094 for the second phase of its mountain bike trail development.

Association president Curtis Miedzinski said the expansion builds on momentum from its trail master plan.
“[Phase two] will result in one new uphill trail and five new downhill trails… creating new opportunities for riders of truly all abilities to access and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds Tumbler Ridge,” he said.
In the NDIT’s November 2025 newsletter, the trust also highlighted other Peace region projects that had previously received funding.
The Grizzly Valley ATV Club in Tumbler Ridge had previously received $12,750 through NDIT’s Marketing Initiatives program to produce professional videos promoting local trail networks.

According to the NDIT, the campaign generated strong engagement, including more than 12,000 YouTube views and a 57 per cent increase in club membership.
Pouce Coupe-based Forefront Energy was also previously awarded a combined $80,000 through two Business Development programs.
The company received $30,000 to develop a comprehensive business strategy, which included market analysis and improved marketing efficiency. Northern Development said the work has already produced results, with Forefront hiring two staff in early 2025.
An additional $50,000 supported the finalization and testing of a pressure-differential generator designed to eliminate emissions at remote gas well sites.
Forefront was also recently named a semi-finalist in the 2025 Northern Angel Summit.
NDIT is a non-profit corporation that aims to stimulate economic growth through investments in local projects in northern and central B.C.
