Salvation Army kick starts 2025 Christmas Kettle Campaign

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Salvation Army has announced the start of its annual Christmas fundraiser across Canada. 

In a November 13th Facebook post, the organization announced its annual Christmas Kettle Campaign was underway in Fort St. John. 

According to its website, the Salvation Army’s kettle campaign sees more than 2,000 kettles distributed to communities across Canada to support programs by the Salvation Army. The first kettle was used in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 1906.

The Salvation Army noted in its November post its goal for the 2025 fundraiser was to collect $150,000 to go towards its local community and family services. 

“Whether you give a donation, volunteer at one of our kettles or contribute toys or food for our hampers, your support makes a lasting difference in the lives of our friends and neighbours,” the post stated. 

In a November 14th post, the religious organization explained residents could find kettles at 11 locations throughout Fort St. John from November 13th to December 24th:
