Today’s court report contains all the sentences handed down in the Peace region between November 3rd and 7th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Provincial Courts between November 3rd and November 7th.
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, November 3rd
Tyler John Apsassin (born 1981):
Apsassin was found guilty of breaching an undertaking and two counts of theft $5,000 or under for incidents in Fort St. John that took place between January 2025 and July 2025.
Apsassin was sentenced to a combined total of 58 days in jail and received three 12-month probation orders.
Russell Keith Robert Fraser (born 1982):
Fraser was found guilty of forcible entry and breaching a release order for incidents in Fort St. John in July 2025.
Latest Stories
Fraser was sentenced to jail time served and issued a 12-month probation order and $400 in victim surcharges, which go towards helping the victims of a crime.
Shaun Craig McFarlane (born 1984):
McFarlane was found guilty of assault and breaching a release order for incidents in Fort St. John in April 2023 and January 2025.
McFarlane was issued two conditional discharges, two 18-month probation orders and $200 in victim surcharges.
A conditional discharge means the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets.
Jonathan Michael Peters (born 1986):
Peters was found guilty of uttering threats, wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer, breaching a release order and flight from police for incidents in Fort St. John and Taylor that took place between January 2025 and September 2025.
Peters was sentenced to a combined total of 84 days of jail time and was issued a five-year firearm prohibition, a three-year driving prohibition, a $100 victim surcharge, an 18-month probation order and was ordered to report for DNA sample collection.
Christopher Gordon Phillips (born 1963):
Phillips was found guilty of breaching a release order for an incident in Fort St. John on May 30th, 2025. Phillips was issued an absolute discharge: the accused was found guilty, but no conviction was registered, and there are no conditions to follow.
Jaspreet Singh (born 2003):
Singh was found guilty of driving while prohibited and/or with a suspended licence for an incident in 70 Mile House on August 8th, 2025. Singh was issued a $500 fine and a $75 victim surcharge.
Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, November 4th
Rylen Zane McClarty (born 1999):
McClarty was found guilty of driving without a licence for an incident in Dawson Creek on December 7th, 2024. McClarty was issued a $250 fine and a $37.50 victim surcharge.
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, November 5th
Stefan Bullert (born 1990):
Bullert was found guilty of failing to care for/protect an animal from distress for an incident in Cecil Lake on November 3rd, 2023. Bullert was fined $1,000 and issued a $150 victim surcharge.
Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, November 7th
Darnell Failen Kurtis Sharron (born 1993):
Sharron was found guilty of five counts of theft $5,000 or under for incidents in Dawson Creek that took place between June 2024 and August 2025.
Sharron was issued a conditional sentence for a combined total of 264 days. A conditional sentence is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest.’
Sharron was also sentenced to jail time served, issued one year of probation and ordered to pay $370 in restitution, which requires the offender to pay the victim for financial losses the victim suffered because of the crime.
