FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Signs of fall are showing in Fort St. John as the city has begun winterizing the Rotary Spray Park for the season.

In a September 17th post on Facebook, the city said that despite an “exceptionally warm fall” so far, overnight temperatures are expected to dip low enough next week to bring frost.

As part of the preparations, contractors will also be completing surface repairs at the spray park in the coming days. The city has asked residents to avoid the spray area while it is roped off.

Meanwhile, most public washrooms in city parks have also been closed for the season.

Washrooms at Mathews Park, both sides of Kin Park and Garrison Park will remain open for the time being, but all other park washrooms have now been locked until spring.

The spray park is located at 9505 100th Street, adjacent to the North Peace Leisure Pool and the North Peace Arena.
