B.C. Conservatives register as elector organization in Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The B.C. Conservatives have registered as an elector organization in communities across the province, including Fort St. John.

In an August 21st press release, the Conservative Electors Association announced it had been registered with Elections Canada in 15 communities across B.C. ranging from West Vancouver and Vanderhoof to Prince George and Fort St. John.

According to Elections BC, an elector organization promotes candidates in local elections and can also be referred to as “civic political parties.”

“The decision to formally register as an elector organization builds on the enormous momentum of the Conservative movement in recent years,” the statement reads.

“While our organization is conservative, we are independent from other federal and provincial political parties.”

The association says it has applications for more municipalities in the works, and will be sharing more information about the future of the organization “in the coming weeks.”

The next municipal election is due to take place in October 2026. All representatives currently sitting on the City of Fort St. John council are non-partisan.
