“Golden Hands Barbershop wasn’t just destroyed, we were violated.”

Christiaan Dreyer, media relations officer with the Fort St. John RCMP, said members of the detachment, the fire department and a forensic identification services unit attended the scene earlier in the day.

Dreyer said the fire is currently under investigation, but it is being treated as suspicious.

The barbershop’s post alleged the fire was arson.

“Someone decided to destroy not just property, but the trust and love we’ve worked so hard to build with our community,” said the post.

The business encourages clients to visit its other locations, such as in Mackenzie Mall and the Experts Barbershop at Totem Mall.

Energeticcity.ca contacted the Fort St. John Fire Department for more information but did not receive an immediate response before publication.

The barbershop is located at 9208 100th Street in Fort St. John.

Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8140.
