Highway 97 open following ‘motor vehicle incident’ on North Taylor Hill

TAYLOR, B.C. — Highway 97 near the North Taylor Hill is open following a collision, according to Dawson Road Maintenance.
The company – which handles maintenance of all provincial roads in the North Peace – posted to social media at 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9th, announcing an assessment was underway in the area following a ‘motor vehicle incident.’

Later, at 8:09 a.m. the same morning, the company confirmed in an update that the highway was open.
People on social media have claimed that a single vehicle rolled over multiple times in the incident.
“BC Emergency Health Services received a call at 6:48 a.m. today regarding a motor vehicle incident on Highway 97 south of Tod Road,” explained BC Emergency Health Services public information officer Brian Twaites in an email.
“One ambulance with primary care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.”
