TAYLOR, B.C. — An online vote to decide new dates for a race weekend has closed and the results have been reported – sort of.

Taylor Speedway was slated to host the Doug Babcock Memorial Challenge races earlier this month. However, the dates were flooded out due to severe rain on June 13th and 14th.

The speedway’s Facebook page later put together an online poll to see about new dates, with a deadline of June 20th for fans to chime in.

The overwhelming majority voted to change the dates to August or September, with another post shared by the speedway suggesting a three-day race weekend but without specifying dates.

“I’m thrilled to announce that our next race weekend will be a three-day event,” read the post from the Fort St. John Stock Car Club , which holds events at the track, on June 22nd. “Additionally, we’re planning to include mechanics races on Sunday following the feature races, if time permits.

“Stay tuned for more details, including the schedule for the Babcock and mini-invitational schedule, registration and any other specifics which will be shared soon.”
