‘Nothing to hide’: MLA denies blackmail allegations, welcomes investigation
MLA Jordan Kealy is denying blackmail allegations from B.C. Conservative leader John Rustad, saying he welcomes an RCMP investigation.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The MLA for Peace River North says he welcomes an investigation into allegations of blackmail, stating he has “nothing to hide.”
MLA Jordan Kealy has publicly stated he was not blackmailing anyone and welcomes a formal RCMP investigation.
This comes after he was one of three MLAs to leave the party amid a row over residential schools comments made by Vancouver-Quilchena MLA Dallas Brodie in March, and John Rustad, leader of the Conservative Party of BC, accused the trio of blackmail this month.
Stephanie Higginson, the chair of the B.C. NPD caucus, has written a letter to the RCMP requesting an investigation into the allegations.
In an X (formerly known as Twitter) post on June 19th, Kealy said the allegations are false.
“This is what a desperate man looks like,” Kealy said.
“John Rustad is losing control, so he lashes out…He throws wild accusations into the wind, hoping they’ll stick.”
